Summary
The principle question this project plans to answer is to determine if a tailored dose of varenicline provides better withdrawal and craving relief in the first week of abstinence than a standard varenicline dose. The primary outcome measure will be the rating of urges to smoke one week after the target quit date assessed by Mood and Physical Symptoms Scale [MPSS] (West and Hajek 2004).
