Turkish Version of the Core Life Activities Scale: Validity and Reliability Study
This study aims to adapt the Core Life Activities Scale (CORE) into Turkish and evaluate its validity and reliability in Turkish-speaking adults. The CORE is a five-item self-report scale that assesses five basic areas of daily life: eating, sleeping, physical activity, learning new things, and social relationships. Approximately 300 adults aged 18 years and older will participate in the study. Participants will complete the Turkish version of the CORE together with measures of health-related quality of life. The CORE will also be administered again one week later to evaluate test-retest reliability. The findings will determine whether the Turkish version of the CORE is a valid and reliable tool for assessing core life activities in Turkish-speaking adults.
his observational methodological study will evaluate the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Core Life Activities Scale (CORE). The study will include approximately 300 Turkish-speaking adults aged 18 years and older from different age groups and socioeconomic backgrounds. The CORE is a five-item self-report measure designed to assess five core areas of daily life: eating habits, sleep, physical activity, learning new things, and social relationships. Each item is rated on a five-point Likert scale ranging from 1 (never) to 5 (always). After providing informed consent, participants will complete a demographic information form, the Turkish version of the CORE, the 12-Item Short Form Health Survey (SF-12), and the World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF). The SF-12 and WHOQOL-BREF will be used to examine the validity of the Turkish CORE. The CORE will be administered again one week later to assess test-retest reliability. Psychometric analyses will be performed to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the CORE. Internal consistency, test-retest reliability, and construct-related validity will be examined. Data collection is planned between August 20, 2026 and September 30, 2026.
