Main objective : In patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with inadequate glycemic control on diet and exercise: (1) After 18 weeks, to assess the effect of treatment with MK-0431 compared with placebo on HbA1C; (2) To assess the safety and tolerability of MK-0431.
